Krodor found me this hilarious game, Evoland, where the mechanics and graphics evolve through the eras of gaming as you play, so I thought I'd share it here in case any of you are interested.

It's kind of Zelda/RPG-y, at least at the beginning. When the game starts, the graphics are chunky, pixelated and black and white, and you can only move to the right. On your right is a chest, so you move over there and open it, and inside is the ability to move left. On your left is another chest, so you go over there and in that one is the ability to move in two dimensions, and so on. Supposedly by the end you'll be up to HD graphics and modern gameplay, but I haven't gotten that far yet.
